Eligibility

 

The Irish Culture Club of Delaware has elected to award one-time scholarships to incoming freshmen attending college or trade school.

 

Any high school senior who is the son, daughter, or grandchild of an active member of the Irish Culture Club of Delaware may apply. For membership verification, please include with your application the name and address of the ICCD member and your relationship to them.

 

The primary criteria for awarding these scholarships will be the student’s contributions to cultural activities within his/her community and scholastic effort on the high school level. Additional consideration will be given to financial need.

 

To be considered for these awards, a candidate is required to submit to the ICCD an original essay which details the following:

 

• Cultural activities in which the candidate participated  

• Details of activities and contributions to the overall program  

• High school activities in which the student has participated  

• Scholastic honors, school-supported clubs, and outside activities  

 

Important Note on Criteria

 

The essay, along with a letter of recommendation from a teacher, guidance counselor, or school administrator, should be no longer than three pages, single or double spaced.

 

Be sure to include your name, address, telephone number, and email address.

 

Your application should be emailed no later than June 20, 2026.

Scholarship awards will be dispensed following notification that the candidates have been formally accepted and registered. It is the candidate’s responsibility to provide this certification to the ICCD.

 

For the 2026–2027 scholarship year, the ICCD will award a minimum of two scholarships, each with a cash value of $1,000.00.
